We have done several tours with Hawaii Forest & Trail and we can highly recommend every one that we have done. Our most recent experience was with guide Justin M up the slope of Hualalai, on private, sacred land otherwise inaccessible to visitors. It was stunningly beautiful, and Justin is a wealth of information on TONS of different topics. The stop at Ola Brew was the icing on the cake - delicious beer and cider, all made with locally sourced ingredients.

Great! From the time we cleaned our shoes and asked for permission to be in this sacred place to the end at Ola Brew, we had an awesome time. Mel did her homework and did well. Kudos for her, making the effort to understand our Hawaiian culture. She was very respectful and informative. Loved it.

This is a real customer focused company, and I can't say enough good things about our tour guide, Justin. So knowledgeable, personable, and funny! We were fortunate to also have Ashley and Kim along with us who added to the excellent experience. This hike is amazing, but not for the out of shape or faint of heart. Wear sturdy sneakers, or hiking shoes if you have them. Most of the terrain is easy to navigate, but there are a few challenging areas. It's a short ride up to the crater with a very bumpy part at the end as the van travels over the lava rocks. The tour provides water, walking sticks and sunscreen if you need it. After the hike, we went to Ola Brewery where we had our packed lunch, toured the brewery and sampled their delicious beer and hard cider. It was a great day!!
