We appreciated our knowledgeable (and friendly) tour guide and the time he spent with us on the tour. The tour was interesting and informative, but we felt this was an activity we could’ve done on our own in half the time. The first half an hour felt like wasted time with initial introductions of everyone in the group and a fair amount of free time in the Chelsea Market (most of the stores and shops weren’t yet open); the tour could’ve been shortened by a half hour and end with free time at the Chelsea Market, when the restaurants and shops were open. Still, this is a fun part of the city and worth exploring, and if you have the time and budget, worth fitting in (we did it on the last day of our 5-day trip).

The tour guide - Maki - was very entertaining and informative at the same time. The length of 2 hours was just right. The High Line is a must see linear park in the Chelsea area that you can visit at no cost but the guided tour was definitively worth it . It was a hot and clear day in August. Meeting at 9 AM was a very good choice. After the tour we had enough information and inspiration to continue on our own. Our tour guide also gave us some New York "insider" tips, which were very useful to us.
