Highlights of Charleston Guided Walking Tour

Overview
Our two hour Highlights of Charleston walking tour guides guests through the historic French Quarter and South of Broad neighborhoods of downtown Charleston. Along the way, your guide will describe the long history, unique culture, architecture, and geography of Charleston and the greater lowcountry area, painting a detailed picture of how Charleston's tumultuous past formed the city now beloved by travelers the world over. You'll view some of the city's oldest houses of worship, burial sites, theaters, the forts of Charleston harbor, and the antebellum mansions that look out across the waters of the Cooper and Ashley rivers, among many other historic and picturesque sites. Our guides also offer their expert advice on other activities, restaurants, and bars for guests to explore once they've finished their tour.

Palmer is a partner in Oyster Point Historic Walking tours and was our tour guide. She is well informed on all things Charleston history and has a passion for sharing her knowledge with others. We loved the tour and would have spent our entire weekend vacation with her if we could. After her tour we found ourselves at other tours or historic sites saying, ā€œThis tour would be so much better if Palmer was leading it. I wonder what Palmer would say about this.ā€ The tour is entirely too reasonable for the awesome information she provides. Be sure to bring some cash and tip her well.

Palmer who lead our tour arrived on time, started the tour on time and was truly very knowledgeable of the area and history. She was attentive to us and regularly asked us if we had any questions. She walked at our pace and was a real pleasure to spend time with.

Palmer was an excellent tour guide. She was so wonderfully educated in the history of the city, and was very engaging. Iā€™ve never visited Charleston before, and I am thankful to be leaving my visit with such a wealth of knowledge of its past. 12/10 recommend.
