Highlights of Charleston Guided Walking Tour

Overview
Our two hour Highlights of Charleston walking tour guides guests through the historic French Quarter and South of Broad neighborhoods of downtown Charleston. Along the way, your guide will describe the long history, unique culture, architecture, and geography of Charleston and the greater lowcountry area, painting a detailed picture of how Charleston's tumultuous past formed the city now beloved by travelers the world over. You'll view some of the city's oldest houses of worship, burial sites, theaters, the forts of Charleston harbor, and the antebellum mansions that look out across the waters of the Cooper and Ashley rivers, among many other historic and picturesque sites. Our guides also offer their expert advice on other activities, restaurants, and bars for guests to explore once they've finished their tour.

Not your typical tour. Bill has a passion for Charleston and history, and provides an interesting viewpoint of the history of the development of Charleston. I highly recommend!!

We had our own personal tour with Palmer because the other scheduled group did not make it. It was fantastic! We learned so many interesting things about Charleston that we did not know even though we have visited the city many times before. I think I enjoyed visiting the theater the most. Palmer focused on the time before the civil war when Charleston was full of wealth. She also pointed out hidden gems to go back and visit and answered all our questions. The two hours fly by because we were having so much fun! I highly recommend taking this tour whether you are a first time visitor or a local.

Palmer was so well informed and it actually gave me a really wonderful context for the history of the city, there were so many details I had NO clue about. I'm a designer and told her i was interested in the architectural history and honestly her level of architectural knowledge of styles and reasons behind the forms was really impressive. Clearly very well informed and able to speak on a variety of topics depending on people's interests. I love walking tours but this was particularly enjoyable and informative. Thank you so much for introducing me so well to a history with such a rich past!
