Melissa was wonderful. She had alot of knowledge about Denver and surrounding towns. She was able to answer questions in detail about the mountain ranges, and native trees, plants, etc. She took time to get to know a bit about each of us, and our abilities. She was "lucky" to have a small group of 5, all from East coast. She made sure we took plenty of rest breaks and to hydrate. We hiked to Gem Lake, which was beautiful. The sandwich and chips was a good lunch, when we reached the lake. The little chipmunks were very friendly. šŸ˜‚ I also recommend the chocolate croissant at the bakery in Lyons. Don't forget plenty of water.

I had the most wonderful day with Melissa! She is so passionate and knowledgeable about basically all of nature. She was intuitive about our needs, a good improviser, and honestly, just fun to be with! As someone who does not spend a ton of time hiking, I was grateful to be on a tour so that I didnā€™t miss any nice views, I could learn a little about the nature I was seeing, and most importantly, so that I didnā€™t get lost. The hike was challenging, but totally manageable with all the breaks we took and the water we drank. The views beautiful all the way up! During my favorite part of the day, Melissa helped me do a rock scramble for the first time! Overall, it was the prettiest hike Iā€™ve ever been on and a day that I will remember so fondly.
