I’m an experienced hiker and joined the group for company and was not disappointed. Sarah the naturalist/guide was simply terrific! She chatted all the way up giving us all sorts of interesting tid bits. She also explained how the company only hired perfect drivers and how they are recorded for evaluation purposes, so I felt much safer with her than other random drivers I’ve had on mountain roads. She certainly knew her way around the park and managed to avoid us having to use the shuttle bus to the trail head which would have taken away from exploring time due to the long lines. The hike was 4 miles with about 950 feet of gain which was determined after we all answered her honestly about our fitness abilities (please don’t overestimate yourself, lest you be miserable on the trail!). The trail was more crowded than I’m used to, but I guess that’s a national park for you. The other people on the hike were lovely and excellent company. In short, it couldn’t have gone better.

This was an amazing hike! The views were awesome. I’d consider this a moderate hike due to the elevation gain. Our guide Sarah was super sweet and so knowledgeable about so many things!!!

The hike was incredible, we saw beautiful views as we hiked up the mountains and we walked around two mountain lakes. Or guide, Jerry, was excellent, he gave us lots of information about the land we were hiking through and the history of the area. He pointed out wildlife and made sure we were comfortable with the hike at all times, taking breaks whenever we wanted and photos anywhere along the way.
