Jill was terrific. She and her husband run their business and really care about their island and showing it off. First of all, communication through Viator with them is easy. Jill picked us and another couple up at our cruise ship pier. She was driving a clean, comfortable new model van. On our way to the volcano, we stopped briefly at a small family run business to pick up our lunch which turned out to be perfectly delicious and just right for the day. We went to the Kilauea Volcanoes National Park: walked along the caldera rim in the rainforest, through a lava tube and on a lava field visited the park visitors center with great views of molten lava. The orchid farm was a beautiful spot to have our lunch. Rainbow Falls is a little tourist-y but getting there, Jill shared all sorts of information about her home city. We ended our day with a visit to a black sand beach and seeing the endangered green sea turtles basking in the sun. Throughout the tour, Jill shared her deep knowledge of geology, history, local customs, and so much more. I'd highly recommend this tour for anyone on a cruise I'm sure she'll pick up elsewhere as well who wants a day's overview of Hilo and the surrounding area. She was very accommodating, making a couple of additional extra stops so that we could take pictures and send postcards from Volcano, HI.
