HOTEL pick-up is offered for select HILO HOTELS ONLY. If you are staying outside of Hilo, please plan to meet at the Hilo Mo'oheau Bus Terminal (please confirm at time of booking).
CRUISE SHIP passengers, we pick-up directly at the PORT OF HILO and will adjust the tour time as needed to accommodate your ships time in port.
For a one DAY TRIP to the Big Island, please make your travel arrangements to and from the HILO AIRPORT. Schedule your flight arrival a minimum of 30 minutes prior to the tour start time AND provide your flight details at time of booking.
Children ages 8 years and up may participate in tour. All participants must have a paid seat. We do not allow any "lap" children.
Kilauea volcano is an active volcano, you may be exposed to volcanic gas on this tour.
This tour cannot accommodate guests with wheelchairs, scooters or oxygen tanks.

We arrived on a cruise ship and planned this tour versus doing the ship’s tour, and we’re glad we did! We were picked up at the pier to begin our small group adventure. We were given information about the island as we drove to Volcanoes National Park, picking up lunch on the way. Our guide was well versed in the geologic history of the area. We were allowed to hike by the crater on our own. We then drove to lava fields and walked around on them. Next, we went to an Orchid growing facility where we ate lunch surrounded by beautiful orchids. Next, a stop at a candy factory where we were given plentiful samples. Rainbow Falls was a beautiful stop! The coup de Grace was a stop at Turtle Beach, where, yes, we saw turtles! It was our first experience at a Hawaiian beach and was it gorgeous! Our tour guide was terrific: personable and well informed. I would opt for this small group tour in a heartbeat versus the big bus ship tours!

Informative small group tour. Our friendly tour guide, Jill, provided lots of history, background and island lore. Wonderful tour of Volcanoes National Park, black sand beaches, an Orchid garden, chocolate factory that also sold coffee. Very organized. A great way to feel like you received individual care and attention!

Our group was large and we had our own bus and guide (12 of us). We did get up to the crater (National Park) park which had many trails closed due to past volcanic activity but I still recommend the trip to see the trails that were open. Our guide was very informative and walked with us several miles to see key features of the crater (steam and sulfur vents, crater etc). Thereafter we actually agreed to modify our trip because we had all by that time seen black sand already. Tour guide accommodated and added a visit to some of the more recent but inactive lava flows and fissures, specifically flows from fissure #8. Unbelievable to see it in person and will change your perspective forever. Highly recommended!!
