What To Expect
1
Banyan Drive
Our first path drives us down Banyan Drive known as the "Hilo Walk of Fame" for the banyan trees planted by celebrities, such as Babe Ruth and Franklin Roosevelt and many others. These trees have withstood several tsunamis that have devastated the town of Hilo
2
Liliuokalani Gardens
This is the largest Japanese garden outside of Japan donated by Queen LiliŹ»uokalani in 1917. Throughout the gardens are stone lanterns, gazebos, and torii gates, recalling the Japanese immigrants who came to Hawaii.
3
Rainbow Falls
breathtaking 80 ft waterfall, Rainbow Falls. These beautiful falls get their name from the rainbow that is often visible in the mist that rises as the water cascades to the rocks 80 feet below.
4
Big Island Candies
Big Island Candies was established in 1977 to manufacture and market fine quality macadamia nut candies and cookies using 100 percent Hawaii-grown macadamia nuts and Kona coffee, island eggs, real butter, and high-grade chocolate. Since its founding, Big Island Candies has continuously introduced new and imaginative products that "wow" both the eyes and taste buds of its growing legion of fans.
5
Hawaii Volcanoes National Park
We will then make our way to the summit of Kilauea volcano at the Volcanoes National Park, the most highly regarded and revered volcanic area on Earth. The Park highlights two of the world's most active volcanoes--Kilauea and Mauna Loa--and offers insights on the birth of the Hawaiian Islands and views of dramatic volcanic landscapes. At the park, you will stop at the Visitor Center, witness the spectacular collapsed caldera, steam vents, sulfur banks, and fascinating scenic lookouts. No trip to Hawaii is complete without a trip to Volcanoes National Park.
6
Nahuku - Thurston Lava Tube
We will walk through a lava tube and the guide will share information with you on how it was formed by lava. This lava tube is .4 of a mile loop trail with low lighting. Gradual stairs descending into the tube ascending stairs coming out. Not all passengers may be physically fit in which they may stay in the vehicle or outside natural scenery for this portion of the tour.
7
Richardson Beach Park
Richardson Black Sand Beach, where sea turtles are usually spotted. The Black Sand Beach is a local favorite, and is a great way to see how the ocean and volcanoes make fine black sand.

We were picked up at the cruise terminal by our welcoming guide Kamaki. We were with him for 7 hours. While he navigated the group around in his minibus, he constantly kept us interested and entertained with his informative stories. He brought us nicely back on time at the cruise ship, half an hour before the all-aboard. Below is the tour we did. It was slightly modified to accommodate for the Macadamia Nut Store not being open yet to the public. As a nice surprise Kamaki added a quick stop at the very end at the Big Island Candies store to buy some Macadamia nuts, and some chocolate with Macadamia nuts. Thanks for the wonderful day Kamaki! 1. Richardson Beach: black sand beach 2. Banyan Drive 3. Liliuokalansi Park & Gardens: Japanese gardens 4. King Kamehameha Statue at Hilo Beach 5. Rainbow Falls at Wailuku Park 6. Manono mini mart: sandwich stop 7. Hawaii Volcanoes National Park: Volcano House , Uekahuna overlook, Steam vents, Rain Forrest & Nahuku (Thurston Lava Tube) 8. Big Island Candies Store

Amazing trip with a fantastic driver Kelvin. He was very attentive to my elderly mother and aunt. Not easy to do with a full van. Thanks!

Our tour guide Kamaki was wonderful. He was so knowledgeable about every aspect of our tour. I would recommend him as a tour guide to everyone. The tour itself was exactly as advertised and well worth the cost
