What To Expect
1
Banyan Drive
Our first path drives us down Banyan Drive known as the "Hilo Walk of Fame" for the banyan trees planted by celebrities, such as Babe Ruth and Franklin Roosevelt and many others. These trees have withstood several tsunamis that have devastated the town of Hilo
2
Liliuokalani Gardens
This is the largest Japanese garden outside of Japan donated by Queen LiliŹ»uokalani in 1917. Throughout the gardens are stone lanterns, gazebos, and torii gates, recalling the Japanese immigrants who came to Hawaii.
3
Rainbow Falls
breathtaking 80 ft waterfall, Rainbow Falls. These beautiful falls get their name from the rainbow that is often visible in the mist that rises as the water cascades to the rocks 80 feet below.
4
Big Island Candies
Big Island Candies was established in 1977 to manufacture and market fine quality macadamia nut candies and cookies using 100 percent Hawaii-grown macadamia nuts and Kona coffee, island eggs, real butter, and high-grade chocolate. Since its founding, Big Island Candies has continuously introduced new and imaginative products that "wow" both the eyes and taste buds of its growing legion of fans.
5
Hawaii Volcanoes National Park
We will then make our way to the summit of Kilauea volcano at the Volcanoes National Park, the most highly regarded and revered volcanic area on Earth. The Park highlights two of the world's most active volcanoes--Kilauea and Mauna Loa--and offers insights on the birth of the Hawaiian Islands and views of dramatic volcanic landscapes. At the park, you will stop at the Visitor Center, witness the spectacular collapsed caldera, steam vents, sulfur banks, and fascinating scenic lookouts. No trip to Hawaii is complete without a trip to Volcanoes National Park.
6
Nahuku - Thurston Lava Tube
We will walk through a lava tube and the guide will share information with you on how it was formed by lava. This lava tube is .4 of a mile loop trail with low lighting. Gradual stairs descending into the tube ascending stairs coming out. Not all passengers may be physically fit in which they may stay in the vehicle or outside natural scenery for this portion of the tour.
7
Richardson Beach Park
Richardson Black Sand Beach, where sea turtles are usually spotted. The Black Sand Beach is a local favorite, and is a great way to see how the ocean and volcanoes make fine black sand.

Some of the stops were worth visiting. Unfortunately, the macadamia farm was a boring gift shop with limited food options--surely they can find a more interesting place for lunch (and our guide didn't make it clear that was our lunch stop). On that same note, our guide was pretty terrible. He told a lot of personal stories but not much information about where we were going or interesting facts about the area. The bus was cramped and uncomfortable. I really can't recommend this company.

After an initial mix up over the starting time of the tour we finally set off in a small and cramped people carrier. The guide talked a lot but there was not a lot of useful information given. There was no clear information given about where we were going. At around 11.30 am we arrived at the Macadamia nut factory and were tole that this was to be our lunch stop! The guide picked up his lunch and left us to it. After about an hour we all got back in the bus. We were given a cereal bar each as a snack. The tour included the Volcanoes national park, a quick look at Rainbow Falls, an Orchid nursery and a black sand beach. the whole trip was rather disappointing.

Thank you for taking the time to write your review and we are sorry that you did not fully enjoy your tour. All of our stops are the main highlights that customers travel here to see, and of coarse liking or disliking the stops is personal opinion. As advertised the macadamia nut farm is our lunch stop. Not knowing who your guide was,we will be sure to address this situation with all the guides.

Had a fabulous day on a tour of many locations with C Big Island tour company. Our tour guide ā€˜Dreā€™ was the best with a few extra stops added as time allowed. Dre was very knowledgeable about the Big Island, the Volcanoes, the flora and fauna. I learned so much from him and he was loads of fun to boot. I would rate this Tour (especially with Dre as your guide) as a 5 star tour.
