Come join the crew aboard the Tammy Jane for a 2-hour educational and picturesque low-country experience as we take you out Shrimping! We invite you to learn about our healthy salt marsh environment, and introduce you to some of the sea creatures we'll safely pull up in our nets (in addition to shrimp!).

We will explore how various ecosystems intertwine to create the rich food web that provides food for our tables.

This is a unique opportunity for guests of all ages! If we do catch shrimp aboard an expedition the crew will package some up for guests to take home.

What To Expect

Vagabond Cruise

Aboard this two hour excursion you will explore how various ecosystems intertwine to create the rich food web that provides food for our tables.This is a unique opportunity for guests of all ages! If we do catch shrimp aboard an expedition the crew will package some up for guests to take home. All excursions depart from Harbour Town Yacht Basin within the Sea Pines Resort. There is a $9.00 per vehicle entry fee for the Sea Pines Resort that must be paid in cash. This gate pass is valid for the entire day, so make the most out of the Sea Pines Resort. Check-in for your Shrimp Trawl aboard the Tammy Jane will be at the Vagabond Cruise reservation office which is located just to the right of the Harbour Town Lighthouse. This was a very interesting and different adventure. You really do go trawling for shrimp for a couple of hours. Our first mate, Sky, was very engaging and informative about all things "shrimping" and a whole bunch more about the area, marine life and the like. She made the 45 minutes of slowly driving around the water palatable. The real fun started as the nets were hauled in and we sifted through the various forms of sea life (and not-so-live-anymore sea life). And, in the end, we had a pile of shrimp to pop heads and take home. So is it exhilarating like renting jet skis or parasailing? No. Is it both interesting and educational? Yes! After all, how many people do you know who have gone shrimping in the US??

Crew was great!!! They were informative and professional. We enjoyed the new experience of shrimping! We enjoyed the cruise. It was hot ( bring a hat ). We saw dolphins and beautiful birds. After trawling for 45 mins. They pulled up the catch. It was full of lots of sea creatures. We got to hold them and then throw them overboard. Shrimp we could keep!!!! They bagged and iced them for us too. Great day!!! Thanks
