Our family of 6, with kids ages 8 up to 17 really enjoyed this. Becca? did a great job explaining all about the boat and nets and how shrimping works. Captian Spike navigated to a spot then they lowered the nets for about 40 minutes. Then they bring the nets up and it is so exciting to see what is in the nets! They empty them into buckets and dump them all out on the table. What a great way to see a large variety of sea creatures! It was so fun! We could hold and touch so many things and even got a chance to pop the heads off of the shrimp. Lots of dolphins swimming along with the boat as well. We all enjoyed the morning!

We went Shrimp Trawling with our two sons (5 and 4 years old) and their cousins (ages ranged from 2 to 10). Sky and Spike did a great job explaining the shrimp trawling process and answering our many questions about the Hilton Head area! The first half of the trip was a little boring for our kids since the net has to sit out for a significant amount of time and there is little to do. Make sure to bring water and possibly an umbrella for shade. Once the net came up it was worth the wait! The net catches many different types of animals that the kids got to hold (i.e. sting ray, fish, jelly fish, hermit crabs, etc.). The non-shrimp animals attracted pelicans, dolphins, and even a shark! It was amazing! Our boys also loved popping the heads off the shrimp! Even with 19 people on board, we got a pretty sizable batch to cook up for dinner! The boat is small and, even though the waters are calm, my nephew got seasick. If you have motion sickness, I'd recommend avoiding. Also - this trip was probably not ideal for the 2 year old since manuevering around the deck can be tricky.

This was an amazing experience. Captain Spike and First Mate Becca were fabulous. I would recommend this trip over any dolphin tour. You get to experience shrimping, lots of other sea creatures, and dolphins is close. I cannot say enough good things about this trip.
