Come join the crew aboard the Tammy Jane for a 2-hour educational and picturesque low-country experience as we take you out Shrimping! We invite you to learn about our healthy salt marsh environment, and introduce you to some of the sea creatures we'll safely pull up in our nets (in addition to shrimp!).

We will explore how various ecosystems intertwine to create the rich food web that provides food for our tables.

This is a unique opportunity for guests of all ages! If we do catch shrimp aboard an expedition the crew will package some up for guests to take home.

What To Expect

Vagabond Cruise

Aboard this two hour excursion you will explore how various ecosystems intertwine to create the rich food web that provides food for our tables.This is a unique opportunity for guests of all ages! If we do catch shrimp aboard an expedition the crew will package some up for guests to take home. All excursions depart from Harbour Town Yacht Basin within the Sea Pines Resort. There is a $9.00 per vehicle entry fee for the Sea Pines Resort that must be paid in cash. This gate pass is valid for the entire day, so make the most out of the Sea Pines Resort. Check-in for your Shrimp Trawl aboard the Tammy Jane will be at the Vagabond Cruise reservation office which is located just to the right of the Harbour Town Lighthouse. This was a neat experience, but probably wouldn't do it again. Didn't really learn anything about shrimping or the animals. Spent most of the two hours just floating around in silence watching everyone bake in the heat. The captain, and especially the deck hand, were both very nice and accommodating. Although there was also a vibe of "let's get this done and move on". We did get to see and hold some neat specimens the same up in the net (small shark, needle fish, flounder ect).

We loved this excursion! The crew was knowledgeable and on time! Water, soda, beer/wine and snacks were available at a reasonable cost if you want it. They explained what the process was and how to keep other sea animals safe while trawling. We caught a baby shark as well as some star fish, flounder, trout, squid, a manta ray and a ribbon fish! A very laid back and interesting tour! We are glad we did it! We were able to take home a decent amount of shrimp and it was delicious!!

So fun! Better than expected, especially if one of your crew is really into sea critters. In addition to the shrimp trawling, passengers get a dolphin show as they follow the boat around hoping for scraps.
