Come join the crew aboard the Tammy Jane for a 2-hour educational and picturesque low-country experience as we take you out Shrimping! We invite you to learn about our healthy salt marsh environment, and introduce you to some of the sea creatures we'll safely pull up in our nets (in addition to shrimp!).

We will explore how various ecosystems intertwine to create the rich food web that provides food for our tables.

This is a unique opportunity for guests of all ages! If we do catch shrimp aboard an expedition the crew will package some up for guests to take home.

What To Expect

Vagabond Cruise

Aboard this two hour excursion you will explore how various ecosystems intertwine to create the rich food web that provides food for our tables.This is a unique opportunity for guests of all ages! If we do catch shrimp aboard an expedition the crew will package some up for guests to take home. All excursions depart from Harbour Town Yacht Basin within the Sea Pines Resort. There is a $9.00 per vehicle entry fee for the Sea Pines Resort that must be paid in cash. This gate pass is valid for the entire day, so make the most out of the Sea Pines Resort. Check-in for your Shrimp Trawl aboard the Tammy Jane will be at the Vagabond Cruise reservation office which is located just to the right of the Harbour Town Lighthouse. Informative, relaxing trip. 2 hrs is enough time for this experience. Most of your time is spent in one spot so that the shrimp can be caught in the net. A baby shark was caught and thank goodness they threw it back in the water. Though they can't promise everyone some shrimp to take home, we had what I thought was a big haul. We went on the 1:00 pm trip. I'm sure that our (2 of us) bag was at least 5 lbs. I think they gave out a total of 7 or 8 bags. We were so happy!

This was one of the best experiences I’ve had in my life and was by far the best part of my trip to the Hilton Head area. Myself and my family were able to enjoy the feeling of an ocean cruise on the way out, while also learning about and seeing ocean life such as dolphins, stingrays, squid, and of course, shrimp. Overall, this was a great experience for people of all ages and I’d recommend this excursion to anyone who is interested.
