Come join the crew aboard the Tammy Jane for a 2-hour educational and picturesque low-country experience as we take you out Shrimping! We invite you to learn about our healthy salt marsh environment, and introduce you to some of the sea creatures we'll safely pull up in our nets (in addition to shrimp!).

We will explore how various ecosystems intertwine to create the rich food web that provides food for our tables.

This is a unique opportunity for guests of all ages! If we do catch shrimp aboard an expedition the crew will package some up for guests to take home.

What To Expect

Vagabond Cruise

Aboard this two hour excursion you will explore how various ecosystems intertwine to create the rich food web that provides food for our tables.This is a unique opportunity for guests of all ages! If we do catch shrimp aboard an expedition the crew will package some up for guests to take home. All excursions depart from Harbour Town Yacht Basin within the Sea Pines Resort. There is a $9.00 per vehicle entry fee for the Sea Pines Resort that must be paid in cash. This gate pass is valid for the entire day, so make the most out of the Sea Pines Resort. Check-in for your Shrimp Trawl aboard the Tammy Jane will be at the Vagabond Cruise reservation office which is located just to the right of the Harbour Town Lighthouse. Great way to spend a few hours to learn how shrimp trawling works. Small company feel. Enjoyed 2 pounds of the freshest local shrimp ever. They helped peel and devein the shrimp for easy cooking. Wish I could get fresh shrimp like that weekly

We enjoyed every minute, the crew was very informative and friendly. Kids would love this trip because its very hands on experience. The net caught all kinds of interesting sea life, small flounder, crabs and jelly fish-and we got to hold anything we wanted. You canto help take the heads off the shrimp. We got lucky and had the best fresh shrimp dinner the next night (7 of us!) It was great!! You learn alot about the shrimping industry by leaving the marina and sailing into the main channel--go later and its also a sunset cocktail cruise. This trip was well worth the money!

What a fun experience. Spike (the Captain) wasn't very friendly but thankful the first Mate Kayla (????) was.....She did all the talking and explained many things about the entire process of shrimping and the eco system. Very Knowledgeable. Unfortunately there wasn't a lot of shrimp on this tour but it was still interesting. Lots of work on their part. Glad I experienced but will not do it again. If you have never been try it just for the experience.
