Come join the crew aboard the Tammy Jane for a 2-hour educational and picturesque low-country experience as we take you out Shrimping! We invite you to learn about our healthy salt marsh environment, and introduce you to some of the sea creatures we'll safely pull up in our nets (in addition to shrimp!).

We will explore how various ecosystems intertwine to create the rich food web that provides food for our tables.

This is a unique opportunity for guests of all ages! If we do catch shrimp aboard an expedition the crew will package some up for guests to take home.

What To Expect

Vagabond Cruise

Aboard this two hour excursion you will explore how various ecosystems intertwine to create the rich food web that provides food for our tables.This is a unique opportunity for guests of all ages! If we do catch shrimp aboard an expedition the crew will package some up for guests to take home. All excursions depart from Harbour Town Yacht Basin within the Sea Pines Resort. There is a $9.00 per vehicle entry fee for the Sea Pines Resort that must be paid in cash. This gate pass is valid for the entire day, so make the most out of the Sea Pines Resort. Check-in for your Shrimp Trawl aboard the Tammy Jane will be at the Vagabond Cruise reservation office which is located just to the right of the Harbour Town Lighthouse. The Tammy Jane is also available for private charters for up to 30-passengers. If you would like more information about this opportunity please reach out to Vagabond Cruise directly.

PROTIP: BOOK EVERY SINGLE PERSON IN YOUR PARTY SEPARATELY & have all different confirmation numbers. The maximum people per trip is 20. The catch is split by booking not by persons. The total number of people on this trip was 18, a family of 4, a couple and my friends’ family & ours. Instead of booking 12 individual times for 12 people we booked as one party of 12. It was a huge mistake on my part to have paid for everyone as they split the shrimp by booking. We caught a total of 35 shrimps, not enough for 2 per person but because they divided the shrimp by booking we didn’t even get enough for one per person. The captain and the deck hand was super nice but the way they split the shrimp didn’t make much sense as we paid the majority of the trip. It was an experience, to sit for a long time and exciting to see the catch, but the catch isn’t guaranteed. The kids were bored most of the time so if you have no patience, bring entertainment. And it definitely would have been better if we could’ve at least had one shrimp per person 🤷🏻‍♀️ I was very disappointed, I said it out loud when I saw the catch. They didn’t even try to appease me, which made me more upset. To appease my disappointment they couldve at least given us a dozen shrimps so we could have had enough for one per person before splitting the rest. Or they should’ve just divided it by persons. Still pouting.

Ian and Lauren were fun guides with Captain Spike leading the way. We didn’t catch a lot of shrimp, lots more jellyfish unfortunately. We did have some unique things in the catch that I got done cool pictures of.
