What To Expect

Hilo Ocean Adventures

This tour departs daily from the Wailoa Boat Ramp at 1:00pm Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Each tour is 2 hours long on our 20' inflatable zodiac. You will be truly amazed by the beauty and culture that Hilo Bay has to offer. You'll visit Coconut Island, an ancient Pu'uhonua or "Place of Refuge," then make your way across Hilo Bay and under the Singing Bridge and enter the longest river in the Hawaiian Islands and sneak a peek at it's iconic waterfalls. This is were the many stories of Maui reside, and you can even spot giant sea turtles wading in the lagoon and swimming through the banyan vines which dangle from the trees along the shore. You will not want to miss the incredible cultural storytelling experience and unique adventure.

Complete waste of time and money ! Guild took us out in the Bay and we just sat there while he rambled . Dock was small and had disgusting port a potty. couls not wait to get off this small boat and away from a guild that made us uncomfortable.

Captain Kimo and Kelsey were wonderful--professional, knowledgeable, and fun. We had a blast on the rafting tour. In fact, this was the second tour with did with Hilo Ocean Adventures and Captain Kimo this week. Definitely a highlight of our trip.

In all fairness, the week long rainy weather made it less than ideal, and the office was good about contacting us to reschedule....twice. Captain Kimo was nice and did share some interesting information, and just being out in a boat, even in the rain ...was fun. But, it really wasn't much of a tour, were barely out an hour, and so called waterfalls, weren't much to look at.

Sorry you did not enjoy your tour. We have many folks who really enjoy the tour around Hilo Bay. We have had guests see dolphins and Rays from the boat. When the tide and weather cooperate Captain Kimo has been able to let folks out of the boat under the banyan tree to explore the shore. We would be happy to take you out again if you have the chance. We want you to be satisfied with your experience with us.
