Within a few blocks there are four different parking garages, and several open-air parking lots. The closest garage to our location (just two blocks away) is at 149 Peabody Place between Second Street and BB King Blvd., next to the Hampton Inn. You can try your luck with on-street metered parking, too, on Second Street just south of Beale; on Beale between Front and Second; or along Peabody Place from Front to Fourth Street.

A great tour for someone looking for the history of Memphis. The tour was about 2 hours, but not much walking as there were many opportunities to stop and chat. Our tour guide, Kathy, was very personable and knew a great deal about the area having lived in Memphis for 30 years! She knows her stuff and kept it entertaining. She had excellent suggestions about places to eat and fun things to do in Memphis. A great way to start your stay in the city.
