Historic Old Louisville Walking Tour

Overview
The Historic Old Louisville Walking Tour is a guided tour of the heart of the Victorian Mansion district in Old Louisville. Designed by a prominent local architect and historian, this tour focuses on the history and architecture of this nationally recognized historic preservation district boasting the largest collection of Victorian Mansions in the United States. The tour begins in the comfortable, Frederick Law Olmsted designed Visitors Center in Central Park. You are guided through iconic St. James and Belgravia Courts, then proceed along South Fourth Street, Ormsby Avenue, and the grand boulevard Third Street, which was known as Millionaire's Row in the 1890s. Then you are led back to the starting point.
All proceeds from the Historic Old Louisville Walking Tour support the work of the Old Louisville Neighborhood Council, a nonprofit organization that serves as an advocate for the community and works for historic preservation.

We loved this walking tour learning about many of the beautiful houses in the historic district. Guide Lily was super knowledgable, AND spoke in a loud, clear voice. Even tho it was a chilly, gray day (with a bit of sprinkles), we had a great time on this tour.

Only had a few hours to spend before a conference... so glad I spent it with Angelique and the Old Louisville tour. The homes are gorgeous by themselves... but Angelique brings them to life. She calls out every detail of the outside... but the real joy comes from the stories she shares about their owners, past & current. She knows her stuff and enjoys researching the city and area. The Bourbon tours are good... but if you want to see where those titans lived... you have to join this tour.

Interesting architecture and all so different, but yet all beautiful! Imagine the creativity in the late 1800s. Incredible. Beautiful day to be walking around in Historic Louisville, too.
