What To Expect

Kailua Pier

Boarding is 30 minutes prior to departure. Guests are greeted with Island Style Pupus (Appetizers), a complimentary cocktail, Historical Narration and live Hawaiian style music.

Kealakekua Bay

Cruise 24 miles round trip along Kona's Gold Coast learning Hawaiian history, stories, and legends. The narrator will point out many landmarks along the way to Kealakekua Bay that are not visible from land. The narration concludes upon arrival to the bay and dinner is served. The cruise back to the Kailua Pier features live Hawaiian style music, gorgeous vistas of the Kona coastline and sunset.

We just experienced this cruise yesterday evening, extremely hot and humid conditions and the first half of the journey heading out was a little tough for our group on the upper deck but the second half coming back was absolutely beautiful. The staff on the ship were first rate and loved their level of service and attention to everyone. I was a bit disappointed that when I first signed up some months ago I believed I read there were a few options for dinner of which did not actually happen as they were passing out the same pork ribs to everyone. fortunately they could provide a vegetarian dish that was simply removal of the pork ribs on the same plate. One woman by us was getting very sick (sea sick) and her husband asked for dramamine and our biggest disappointment was the staff said that would cost three dollars. With a ticket price of well over $100, it is our belief that no company should be charging for something this simple and inexpensive to keep their guests happy. If it weren’t for this fact, they probably would have received a five star rating. Terrific narration from a historical knowledged person as well as a great musician.

Aloha ricbecker2, Thank you for joining us! For our guests safety we do not offer any complimentary medications. Dramamine is available for purchase on board for guests who are not aware that they have issues with motion sickness prior to boarding. If you know that you have the propensity to have motion sickness the best defense is to take Dramamine at least an hour before boarding for maximum effectiveness. A three hour excursion on a two million dollar catamaran, with delicious food, table service, a complimentary cocktail, live music, historical narration, priceless vistas and lifetime memories make this ocean adventure a Big Island favorite!
