Historical Drinking Tour of Savannah

Overview
It's classier than a pub crawl and tipsier than a history tour! You'll spend three leisurely hours picking up some history, along with local libations, as you stroll through Savannah's Landmark Historic District. Unlike a rowdy pub crawl, your drinks are already paid for and have been chosen to represent the most distinctive favorites that have come and gone throughout the city's 285 year history. Party like it's 1799 with a glass of Madeira wine (and a cheese plate) at Jazz'd Tapas Bar, then sample six different meads (and even more varieties of honey) at Savannah Bee Company. After the mead, it's time for a mint julep at the 17Hundred90 Inn & Restaurant. Then end with a bang- a glass of Chatham Artillery Punch at the Pirate's House! Let a local show you how to get up close and personal with Savannah's delightful establishments, delicious alcoholic delicacies, and interesting history.

Had a good time learning some history and how certain drinks wove into history. My only complaint was our guide didn't seem excited to be there. I get that it's their job just like we alot of times don't want to work, but you strap on a happy attitude and forge forward, especially in the hospitality industry. Secondly, in our politically charged climate, I would avoid controversial remarks showing how liberal or conservative one is. Then at the end of the tour, she ended with handing us a drink (no table) and said 5 minutes of history and basically let us know we can go do whatever and the tour ended abruptly. I would have given the tour 4 or 5 stars if the guide seemed more happy to be there...when we started with saying how excited we were to be there and she responded with an annoyed look and said she had a long day cleaning her house we should have known she really was not excited about being there. Enjoyed the history, just wished for more pleasurable interaction with our guide (humor would go far in this tour.). I think we just got her on a bad day.
