What To Expect

Salem Old Town Hall

All tours depart from Salem's Old Town Hall, on the three steps. A local historian guides you through the cobblestone-lined streets of this 17th century city by the glow of lantern light. Explore the driving factors behind the infamous Witch Trials Hysteria of 1692, meeting real practicing witches along the way. Learn about the rise of Salem as a world-class haunted seaport, creating some of the wealthiest families in its history.

Essex Street Pedestrian Mall

We will be strolling the cobblestoned streets of the Essex St Pedestrian walking mall. This is the very heart of Salem, which once was a Native American trading path. You will visit the site of the First Church of Salem and hear the haunting tale of the Lady in Blue.

Bewitched Statue of Elizabeth Montgomery

One of the most photographed sites in the city, the Bewitched statue will be your next stop. Learn how the locals *really* felt about this 9 foot bronze statue being dedicated in 2005. Why are their security cameras fixed on Samantha?

Although the weather did not cooperate, our guide did a great job of telling the stories of the crimes of Salem. It was great to get Dome historical insight into not just the Witch Trials, but why certain people were involved and their back stories. Highly recommend if you're traveling to Salem!

Vanessa was our guide and she did a fabulous job of bringing the history of Salem to life. So much more to Salem than witches but that part of the history is fascinating. There is a bit of walking in this tour so if that doesn't work for you, you would want to find something else but we loved the walking tour of the city. Be aware, Salem in October is crazy busy! Thankfully, we got several texts/emails to not try to drive into the downtown but gave us the locations of the shuttle parking lots. Worked great! The tour takes you to many of the historic places but you do not go inside; the history is given outside you can return if you so choose. Would highly recommend this company and especially Vanessa as your guide.
