This was an excellent tour. There are 70+ tour companies and they seemed to be all out on our night lol. April was our guide, and after hearing some of the other guides, it was EXTREMELY clear that we lucked out. April has clearly been doing this for years, she is from the area, highly knowledgeable, confident, and great at guiding. The tour started off a little "dry" with the early history of Salem, but once we got going we were really into it. April even managed to incorporate a very good human message at the end. And we learned that they call Dunkin Donuts "Dunks" here. Two things: this tour was not super big on "scaring" the crowd, but was more about trying to tell the real history of Salem and balancing out people's negative perceptions of the town because of the witch trials, which are just a small part of the town's history. although there were still a couple solid ghost stories. ALSO - if you go in October, DO NOT DRIVE INTO SALEM. it is a nightmare. park at the high school or library or whatever, like the email advises, and just take the bus in.

This tour was really great! Would recommend to take earlier tours, it’s less crowded during the morning weekdays. First time in Salem and received really descriptive stories about the area and showed us important pin point places that you must see on your trip! Cody was a really good story teller and you can tell he actually likes his job. He offered to take pictures if anyone wanted pictures. Didn’t feel rushed at all either which is a problem sometimes with certain tours. We braved rain for this tour and we didn’t regret it!

I didn't realize the group would be so large. I thought it was supposed to be 8 max people. I must have misunderstood and the group was way too big at 43 people. The tour guide used a mic but couldn't hear very well and felt lost in that huge group. We just walked away. It could have been good but instead a big waste of $80.
