While our guide was knowledgeable, he was was incredibly long winded….I mean, The tour group that started a half hour later than us even caught up. And There isn’t so much walking as just standing in place. We maybe covered at the very very most a mile. You could tell the tour group was getting antsy over hearing stories that could have been wrapped up in 5/10 minutes but would just go on and on and on with the guides commentary. I was also under the impression there would have more ghostly stories. They didn’t really take you anywhere you couldn’t go yourself within a 5 block radius of the center of town. My boyfriend and I ended up leaving near the end to do our own sightseeing. Opinion, if a tour is going to be 2 hours, make it well worth it 🤷‍♀️

It was cold, windy, and raining. We still attended the tour. However, we felt like it was a complete waste of time. Our tour guide kept us standing in non-significant spots while he talked about history. I thought we would see more and he would point out more things. At one point, the tour guide walked us to the witch house and we stopped to take a picture of it for a brief second. We realized the tour guide kept walking and was gone and could not find him. He took the group to a random spot to talk about the witch house instead of standing near it so everyone can see it. I felt like it was something we could have heard from a podcast. We expected to see a lot more while hearing about the history behind it. Very disappointed.

Hi Betty, Thank you for your feedback. The reason we do not stand in front of the Witch House is that there is simply not enough room to keep the group and to be able to go over the Salem Witch Trials. Imagine standing on the sidewalk all squished together! It would not be safe or allow for others to pass by. That is the reason we stand in other spots. I do know that you had plenty of opportunity to see the Witch House (we go directly up to it!) and also that the guide takes a picture of every group upon request. I suggest coming back to visit Salem outside of October when it is not as busy! Regards, Beth
