Hoh Rain Forest and Rialto Beach Guided Tour in Olympic National Park

Overview
This 9 Hour Tour begins with a two-hour shuttle into the Hoh Rain Forest, one of the largest temperate rain forests in the contiguous USA. At the Hoh Rain Forest, guests typically have two full hours to explore the Hall of Mosses and Spruce Nature Trail on a Naturalist Guided Hiking Tour. Our guide will overview the natural history of the Hoh Rain Forest, identify various micro-plants, and showcase the top viewing areas. The endless moss-laden scenery and towering old-growth evergreens are breathtaking.

After a scheduled stop in Forks, we spend the afternoon on the Pacific Coast at Rialto Beach. At Rialto, guests generally have one or two hours to explore this beautiful section of wilderness coast amongst massive sea stacks, driftwood logs, and the crashing waves of the Pacific Ocean. Overall, guest can expect 3-4 hours of sightseeing with about 4-5 hours of drive time roundtrip from our Port Angeles meet-up location.

Four of us went on a private tour with Eric and loved it. He knew a ton about the area, and was consistently friendly, informative, and engaging. Our only complaint was it ended to soon - we could have spent even more time learning and laughing. Highly recommend!!!

Our tour guide Adam made our experience of touring the Hoh Rainforest and Rialto beach an amazing one! It was very informative and the sights were beautiful. He even took a little extra time and took us to see a waterfall. My husband and I would highly recommend this tour!

We had two days of tours - the first was Hoh and Rialto, and the second was Sol Duc, Lake Crescent, Marymere Falls, and Madison Falls, Erik was our guide both days, and he was phenomenal. He has such an appreciation for and knowledge of nature and repeatedly said it is a privilege to live on the peninsula. Even if he would not have said those words (which he did, multiple times!), that message came through loud and clear in the way he talked about our surroundings. Our party consisted of my 84-year-old mother, my husband, myself, and our eight-year-old daughter. Erik tailored our hikes to what our party could do, and had several pre-planned "bail-out" points along the way should someone not be able to continue on the hike. Throughout our time together, he regularly checked in to make sure everyone was doing ok. As he taught about what we were seeing in the environment around us, he did so in a way that was easily comprehended by everyone in our party. He happily answered all of the questions we asked - and those of you who have experience with 8-year-olds know that there can be a lot of questions! His goal is to help others develop a similar love and appreciation of nature and our National Parks to what he has. He succeeded. The information he shared with us on the hikes helped us to have a greater appreciation and understanding of what we saw on the days we explored on our own. It truly helped us get the most out of our time on the peninsula. If you are debating about booking a hike with Olympic Hiking, DO IT!
