See Landmark locations including: the Hollywood Sign, Grauman's Chinese Theatre, the Hollywood “Walk of Fame,” Beverly Hills Sign, Rodeo Drive, the Whisky A Go Go, the Beverly Hills Hotel, Sunset Plaza, and the Sunset Strip; including the restaurants and clubs where celebrities dine daily and hang out nightly. My family and I took this tour in August and it was a fun ride. We took the "A List" Celebrity Tour. Our tour guide was Matthew and he was very good...knowledgable and witty. The tour took about two hours and went from Hollywood Boulevard up to the Hollywood sign viewing spot on Mulholland Drive then down through the Hollywood Hills, Beverly Hills and the Sunset Strip. The viewing spot of the Hollywood sign was just OK...I understand that it's obligatory for everybody (and it seemed like all the different tour outfits go there too) but it didn't seem to be a "great" view of the sign; definitely closer than from Hollywood Blvd. but it's still a good distance away. Then Matthew showed us a number of celebrity houses but I found the facts he had more interesting than simply seeing some house exteriors or wrought-iron gates. I especially liked some of the trivia about some of the places on the strip like the Viper Room and the Chateau Marmont. I also liked how the van had a cloth canopy which shielded us from the sun but still allowed for open-air cruising and unobstructed views. The one thing to keep in mind is that the loading area is a relatively quiet street corner and there are no signs for the company. Steve met us there and he was outgoing and friendly but I did have a moment's trepidation as we walked there from the carnival-like Hollywood Boulevard (where we walked around a bit before our tour time). Overall, I am very happy with this informative, laid-back, well-paced tour!

Thank you for the very nice review. I will pass your comments on to Matt as he is always interested in reponse from his tour passengers. Regarding the Hollywood Sign, you are right our drive to the "lookout area" is as close as any vehicles are allowed to the sign. The sign is well protected now and no one is allowed close, 24 hour security, etc. Matt is always good at being the photographer for people with the sign as the backdrop; he is besides a great tour guide for us an entertainment industry photographer. Matt is filled with trivia as he picks a lot of that up from his photo job as well as other places. The canopy is the only way to operate in the summer months, it still offers the unobstructed views all around but keeps that mid-day sun off the passengers, were glad you appreciated it, few of our competitiors have them. We love our quite double vehicle loading zone, we operated from Hollywood Boulevard for several years before moving to Sunset Boulevard and the great loading area and fabulous parking provided by the church lot are such a big benefit to us. Next time try the wonderful little organic coffee shop right next to us, very highly rated also. Again, we appreciate you taking the time to write such a long detailed review.

Saw all of the celebrity homes and hotspots in the hollywood hills, west hollywood, and beverly hills. Couldn't beat the price compared to other tours ($39 pp). Bill, our tour guide was a lot of fun and really hilarious!

My daughter was only interested in an open top bus tour as we have been down the sightseeing tour drill before. We have much experience in both open top and enclosed vans and know the difficulty one can have when riding in enclosed buses. My daughter had her own agenda of people and places she wanted us to see and to her credit see spent a gigantic amount of time planning the trip. She researched trip advisor for almost all of our adventures including our Star Home tour. Ultimate Hollywood Tours is the highest ranked open top tour on trip advisor so we began working with them. Seventeen emails later we reserved our seats and could not be happier that we made that choice. We asked for a specific guide and got him. We asked to be picked up at our hotel and a Lincoln town car showed up to get us. The tour guide (Matt) met with my daughter for 10 minutes before the tour departed and they went over the couple of places she had requested that were not part of the regular tour. We went there! We were not on a private tour and it ran about 20 minutes long, but the other passengers were informed by Chris before we started and they were all fine. Needless to say the entire experience was a 5 Star plus. If you are looking for a Beverly Hills Stars Home tour this is the one.

Thank you for your kind review. Let me start by saying I remember your daughter and still have the email correspondence saved, in fact I went back to look at it after your review. She was always a pleasure during our correspondence. I believe you were the first official pick up we made in the Lincolns' as we switched over from using shuttle buses, I'm glad our first experience worked out well for you. We attempt to carry on conversations with everyone getting on board prior to departure just in case there are any special requests that we can insert that aren't part of the tour route. I remember a couple of your daughters requests and I'm glad we could satisfy them. We were happy to inform the balance of the passengers that we had a couple extra locations that we were going by and generally no one ever minds, but I'll thank them for you.
