Dr. Wagner's Honey Island Swamp Tours
Embark on a unique Louisiana Swamp adventure! Starting at the West Pearl River in Slidell, Louisiana, check in at the gift shop overlooking the Tupelo and Cypress swamp. Before the 2-hour journey through 70,000 acres of Honey Island Swamp, catch a glimpse of potential backyard visitors in the murky waters. As you walk down the dock, enjoy the moss-draped cypress trees and the sweet smell of wild azaleas. Your guide will share fascinating tales of pirates, Bigfoot, and prehistoric creatures. Keep an eye out for alligators, herons, otters, raccoons, and bald eagles. Pass through the Cajun village where local fishermen catch bluegill, bass, and crawfish. The boats, approved by the US Coast Guard, accommodate 20-24 people and are operated by experienced local guides. The tour concludes as the captain returns to the starting location. Note: Transportation to and from New Orleans is not included. Select the "Honey Island Swamp Tour with Pick-up" for hotel pickup.

Came from Texas to see some live gator in their habitat and this place was so kind and friendly. It was just after a storm and the water levels were high causing the gator to hide out. Our tour guide didn’t leave any stones unturned until he delivered and he did. The entire day was amazing thanks to them.

Guide was well informed and gave us just the right amount of information. Had a good sense of humour and was down to earth. The tour gave us a window into Lousiana wildlife, landscape and culture that we could not have had just exploring on our own. Great way to kick off vacation.

The swamp is full of life and activity. See homes situated as neighborhoods that are in the swamp, performances by some animals, our guide Captain Steele. Had a fabulous eye and sense of animal locations. Louisiana accent made it real!
