Honolulu Sunset & Night Light Painting Experience

Overview

This is a super fun afternoon and night activity that's a little different than anything offered on the islands.

We will start will a fantastic spot to watch the sunset. We have a few places to choose from. You might not always get the sun dipping into the ocean, But the location will be unique.

After the sun sets, we will head to a very dark location where we can start having some fun. Your guide will show you how to light paint. If you have no idea what this is, even better. You will be able to create art at night with our tools.

We recommend bringing a camera that can adjust the settings for long exposures. If you don't, your guide will take some photos with their cameras and email a link after the tour.

Understand that this is a different type of tour you are taking and is more about having fun and learning something new.

Makapu‘U Point

Get familiar at this lookout and the gear to capture the night sky.

Makapu'u Beach

Capture the stars and lighthouse at the beach. We will also do light painting and steel wool photos.

Micah was our guide. He did a great job trying to keep up with everyone and making sure they were getting some great shots. Unfortunately, on my tour there was an extremely needy family of four that kept pulling him away from everyone else. He was very polite and always tried to go back to the others and try to make it up to them. I actually learned a lot, even though my camera didn’t cooperate and I didn’t get to do as much as everyone else. I still highly recommend this if you love photography!

I’ve been solo traveling here in Hawaii for over a month and out of all things I’ve done this experience sits at the very top. I’ll never forget this moment. We saw an epic sunset of the China Walls, did steel wool photography on the beach in pitch darkness, and lastly did night painting photography up in the mountains. Along the way we were given iPhone compatible tripods that we used to shoot long exposure shots of the night sky. We went during a new moon and saw so many stars. I would have honestly stayed there all night stargazing and listening to the soothing sound of the ocean waves. Our tour guide Mac really made this trip unforgettable! He was hilarious and kept us entertained the whole time. His energy was phenomenal and kept us wide awake. He personally showed me so many iPhone photography tips. Mac gave us insight knowledge on the neighborhood and even went out of his way to show us around some spots that only locals would experience. This night time tour really stood out as one of the most unique things I’ve done here on Oahu. Highly recommend doing it! It’s so worth it.
