Hopscotch Immersive Art Experience

Overview
Founded in 2018, Hopscotch is an immersive and experiential brand that brings together artists in collaborative environments to create unique, impactful, and distinct shared experiences. We believe art can be a vessel to tell stories and illuminate important messages of the past, present, and future. We strongly believe in cultivating lasting relationships and a synergy with our staff, artists, and the local communities we are in. Along with our installations, you'll find live music from local and regional musicians along with a full bar and intentionally curated gift shop. We seek to inspire, challenge and guide culture. Guests lose themselves within our walls in the best ways possible.

This is now my favorite art place in San Antonio. It's been here for 2 years and I never knew of it until TripAdvisor sent me an email about it. Thank you, TripAdvisor. Now, my wife and I are making a list of all the people to whom to recommend Hopscotch. The exhibit is in the large basement of what seems to have been a bank - one room seems to be a former vault. It's a dimly lit maze that takes us to different rooms. Each room has a new surprise of light, color, motion, and unexpected & creative experience. Afterwards, there is a gift shop, bar, and snacks. I usually don't expect much from museum food & drink, but this was delicious. I get the impression that people come in sometimes just for the refreshments. TripAdvisor and Hopscotch are a bit coy about the location - it is on the corner of Travis & Navarro in downtown San Antonio. It's next to the Travis Park Plaza garage, and Hopscotch validates parking, reducing it to a $5 charge.

On the right track with some interesting exhibits, but very underwhelming for the price and compared to Meow Wolf in Denver or Santa Fe. Scale this up 5 to 8x, with a price no more than 50% more, and it has good potential.

Ed, Thanks for taking the time to visit! Although we have a similar concept to Meow Wolf, we focus primarily on highlighting local, national, and international artists in our 20,000 sq. ft. space. We bring together artists in collaborative environments to create unique, impactful, and distinct shared experiences. Our fifteen installations created by over fifty artists from around the world help us cultivate lasting relationships and synergy with our staff, artists, and the local communities we are in. They are a fantastic concept, but we don't like to compare, as they are completely different than what we have to offer. We hope you, Amy, and Elias can visit us again sometime in the future. Should you have additional feedback, please email [email protected].
