We went on the half-day tour, and we wished we had opted for the whole-day tour. My granddaughter was out for her summer visit and I wanted to do something special with her. After searching the web, I found Red Canyon Trail Rides and booked a ride. We, my son, granddaughter and I, arrived to find we would be the only riders for our tour. I had the most riding experience of our group, which was not much, but that did not matter. Our guide, he called himself a wrangler, Mike, was wonderful. He made sure to match the right horse to the rider and the riders experience level. He was kind, patient, and attentive with all of us, but especially with my granddaughter. He gave helpful riding tips, made sure she was safe, and having a great time the whole way. Mike was a wealth of information about horses, the canyon, and the canyons history. I think he may have read every book available on the topic of Butch Cassidy. He told stories I had never heard, of Butch and the Wild Bunch. The trail we were on was remote, beautiful, and wild. The views spectacular and inspiring. The horses were perfect as they knew the trail and we just had to sit back and enjoy the scenery and the ride. By the end of the ride both my granddaughter and I were quiet smitten with Mike, what a wonderful human. We would love to take another tour, next time we will opt for the whole-day experience. Thank you Mike for helping make such wonderful memories.

Our guide, Justin (I believe that was his name-itā€™s been a few weeks ago), was amazing! He was attentive, patient, friendly and professional. At no point did we feel unsafe. He made the trip enjoyable and memorable. The horses, who were beautiful and well cared for, were very well mannered and pleasant to ride. The trails were just ā€œremoteā€ enough to make the experience authentic and special. The scenery was outstanding. We throughly enjoyed our trip and would certainly recommend Red Canyon and Justin to anyone. Weā€™d do it again! Thank you for a fantastic time. We will cherish the memories for years to come.

My husband and I took a 2 hour ride on July 1st with Michelle up the Red Canyon trail. Neither one of us had ever ridden before and we are both older (mid 50's) with back issues, knee surgeries, etc...so we weren't sure if we could even do a 2 hour ride. Our guide, Michelle listened and took her time to explain what kind of terrain we would be on and found us both the perfect horses for our ride. Michelle was great in setting up our stir-ups so our knees wouldn't hurt and then was very informational along the ride giving us local family history, horse history and Red Canyon history. I really liked that because it wasn't just about the ride but immersing ourselves in the history of the land as well. The ride was fantastic as the horses knew the trail well so we really got to just enjoy the ride. Plan on 3 hours for a 2 hour trip - to get paperwork, mini lesson, driving to Red Canyon, riding, unloading and loading the horses and returning back. You can take your own water, camera, go-pro, etc...as they have saddlebags on each horse to hold items. Michelle (our guide) also took LOTS of pictures along the way and sent them to us that night!! Definitely save time to do this - well worth it.
