Superheated rock in the earth’s mantle pushed the crust upward with such force that it cracked. A 240,000 square mile chunk of it was thrust upward. That’s the Colorado Plateau we’re standing on today. All of this happened in the blink of an eye — well, geologically speaking. Glen Canyon Dam Overlook

Page is one of the youngest towns in America, dating back to only 1957. But why build a town out here at all? Well, the whole thing exists because of Glen Canyon Dam.

It’s called Waterhole Canyon. Erosion from water and wind has carved the canyon walls into a wild, curving pattern you simply have to see in person.

Antelope Canyon

You might not think “bright colors” when you think of a canyon, but that’s just what you’ll get in Antelope Canyon. This wild, twisting slot canyon is Instagram-famous for a reason. The wind-carved sandstone walls look like something out of a dream, and the sunlight filtering down from above casts the whole thing in a fabulous red glow.

This was a perfectly good waste of $10. Horseshoe Bend is a very small site and the amount of information on the audio tour was equivalent to about 2 paragraphs of a google search. I would NOT recommend spending money on this.

Although the app work perfectly, there isn’t a lot of information about the history or geology of the Horseshoe Bend. Just a brief and non-relevant info on each point. To be fair just 2 points had somehow interesting information about the Bend. I would not recommend spending the money on this audio tour.
