What To Expect

Black Hills National Forest

Once the balloon is ready, you’ll gently take to the skies for an approximate 1-hour flight over the Black Hills National Forest. If you are new to ballooning, you’ll be surprised at the silence and serenity you’ll find high above the treetops. It’s truly magical. Upon landing, the ground crew will pack the balloon while you and your pilot celebrate the flight with complimentary champagne, light snacks and a story about the origin of hot air ballooning. Flights depart at sunrise and are weather dependent and always at the discretion of your experienced pilot.

For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

What an amazing experience! It was so peaceful sailing above the trees. Watching the crew get the balloons ready for flight and then the tear down was fun and enhanced the overall experience! Mike was our pilot and was both humorous and informative. It is evident that the crew and the pilots love what they do! I highly recommend Black Hill Balloons. I would do it again in a heartbeat!

The balloon ride was eerily quiet, super smooth, and beautiful. Our pilot was skillful, and happy to explain how hot air ballooning works. The equipment and ground crews were all top-notch. The whole experience was well-managed. It was well worth the price.

Absolutely amazing experience. The owner and his staff were so incredibly friendly and accommodating. Being involved in the setup and tear down of the balloon was awesome. It was so cool to see the whole operation from start to finish. Watching Damon’s crew work was an experience in its own. They all seemed so passionate about their jobs and i shows in their smiles and attitudes. The icing on the cake is what you experience after you land. The Champagne, the cheese and crackers and listening to Damon tell the history of Ballooning was AMAZING. If you are on the fence about going with Black Hills Balloons, I can tell you that you are missing out if you decide not to go. Thank you so much for such a great experience.
