What To Expect

Black Hills National Forest

Once the balloon is ready, you’ll gently take to the skies for an approximate 1-hour flight over the Black Hills National Forest. If you are new to ballooning, you’ll be surprised at the silence and serenity you’ll find high above the treetops. It’s truly magical. Upon landing, the ground crew will pack the balloon while you and your pilot celebrate the flight with complimentary champagne, light snacks and a story about the origin of hot air ballooning. Flights depart at sunrise and are weather dependent and always at the discretion of your experienced pilot.

For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

Our Hot Air Balloon experience was more than excellent. Although the wind was a little suspicious to begin with we finally got off the ground and had an amazing experience with Mike at the helm. He was able to navigate an unusual landing with precision. I would recommend Rapid City Hot Air Balloon to all. Thank you to Damien, Mike and the crew!

Absolutely Fabulous!!! I am not going to lie We have never done anything like this before and I wwas very very nervous but from the moment we arrived all my fears were at ease. It is very apparent that these operators are highly experienced and love their job. We had a blast. Our pilot was Mike who we enjoyed very much. We Thoroughly enjoyed every second stunning views and such a peace up in the clouds I recommend this experience for everyone!!
