What To Expect

Black Hills National Forest

Once the balloon is ready, you’ll gently take to the skies for an approximate 1-hour flight over the Black Hills National Forest. If you are new to ballooning, you’ll be surprised at the silence and serenity you’ll find high above the treetops. It’s truly magical. Upon landing, the ground crew will pack the balloon while you and your pilot celebrate the flight with complimentary champagne, light snacks and a story about the origin of hot air ballooning. Flights depart at sunrise and are weather dependent and always at the discretion of your experienced pilot.

For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

It was truly a unique experience. My wife does not like heights, and was hesitant to go, but now wants to do it again! The Team was wonderful, cheery, funny, and thoughtful. If you’re in the area and ever wondered if you should, Do It! Black Hills Balloons was an Excellent experience that I would highly recommend

Was an amazing trip. Planned for it to be a surprise for my mother and the crew adjusted their welcome and briefings so that her surprise was not ruined. Once the cat was out of the bag, she, like everyone else was swept away. The knowledge shared was abundant, the banter was comforting. Mother said to give Mike and crew a 6, but TripAdvisor only allows 5 stars. Thank you Mike, Damien, and crew for setting the bar high for the rest of our trip! Anyone reading this, I highly recommend Black Hills Balloons.

The only better way to view the beauty iof Custer State Park (other than driving through) would be with Black Hills Balloons! Amazing sights! Expert professional pilots maneuvering for best views for all onboard. Historical information about the history of ballooning and the area. Such a great experience and so memorable. Thank you to Damien, Sam and the crew!!
