The Little Hiking Adventure takes place on thousands of acres of private conservation land 7-miles above the North Shore town of Haleʻiwa. Guests will enjoy a 4-hour guided hike into the lush tropical mountains of Oʻahu - traverse scenic ridge lines, trek through freshwater streams, see rare endemic flora, pick fresh tropical fruit, and cool off with a mountain pool swim! The "Iki" starts off with a 7-mile off-road ride to the trail head and continues with a hike through unspoiled natural beauty rarely witnessed by Oʻahu visitors. Hikers will scale windswept ridges, forge freshwater streams, and trek through verdant tropical valleys. See wild bananas, guava, bamboo thickets, scented gingers, and other spectacular rainforest plants. Revel in Hawai'i's fascinating history, culture, and ancient mythology as shared by an expert Hawaiian guide. If that's not enough, how about a rejuvenating swim in a private mountain pool? Not only was I solo on this back country hike on Oahu, I had a great hiking experience as the only customer hiking with the two Polynesian brothers who lead the hiking tours and the two new training leaders who were hiking this trail for the first time! Normally they would have cancelled because of their 2 hiker minimum but they went ahead so the new training leaders could take the hike. Great experience wading across streams and learning about the natural history and native, Polynesian, and invasive plant life in Hawaii, and the language and culture of the Polynesian peoples. It was the second day of my first trip to Hawaii and it really put me right in the middle of it all.

My wife and I did the Little Hiking Tour with guide Ryan, and it was an excellent half-day experience that I highly recommend to anyone visiting Oahu. Beautiful views and super informative, Ryan's passion for conservation and knowledge of the area's ecology made for an unforgettable and well-rounded experience. I would definitely go back to check out any of their other excursion options!
