The boat has a lower enclosed deck, a middle deck which is a shaded but otherwise open are, and an open air upper deck with bench seating.
A fully stocked bar with alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages and a snack bar with light fare such as hot dogs & fresh popped popcorn is available on the lower main deck at your own expense.
Outside food and beverages are not allowed on board the boat
There is plenty of seating on the boat, both inside and on the upper deck, which consists mainly of bench-style seating; the main lower deck has chairs; seating is on a first-come first-served basis, so be sure to arrive early if you’d like to sit in a particular area of the boat

Take the cruise every fall. Took my 2 sisters this fall because my wife passed away and did not want to go alone. Promised them a great day and snacks on the boat. Not permitted to bring any snacks on board so always like to patronize the Rip Van Winkle. and purchase drinks and food. Very disappointed. The staff did not keep making popcorn , ran out of pretzels, ran out of red wine and the hot dogs were less than hot. So maybe have lunch before you set sail or have no expectations when you get on board.. Aside from this, it was once again a great boat trip that I will take again. Will call ahead next time to make sure the boat has been properly purveyed. Thanks to all the nice people working on the boat...friendly and efficient especially the Captain who did a fine narration of the sights along the Hudson River. Great Job by all! ...and thanks again

My son and I were excited to go on this trip. We are both avid photographers and we were looking forward to the fall colors. Needless to say Mother Nature did not co-operate. Which was not Hudson River Cruises fault. So we opted to take lots of pictures of the lighthouses and those old boats up along the shore. Very interesting facts about those old boats. It was a relaxing boat trip and I had fun.
