I had never really sailed on the Hudson or had the viewpoint of actually being on the River, so this was a very special experience for me. It was a hot day and the cruising speed allows some very relaxing breezes. There is an automated narration during the 2 hour or so duration, which points out some of the more iconic landmarks you can spot along the way (the journey is southward and back). Some of these includes Esopus Light, Vanderbilt Mansion, Hyde Park (FDR) estate, etc. There is also a snack bar on board, although they were mostly selling beverages, including draught beer. The embarkation point is right next to the Maritime Museum in Kingston, so it's a good opportunity to combine the two experiences if you book a cruise. I would probably do this again if the opportunity arose.

We were a large church group and enjoyed every minute of our excursion. The crew were very informative and helpful. We had some passengers who were handicapped and needed assistance, the crew stepped right up and helped. The boat, Rip Van Winkle ll, was clean and certainly sea worthy. Ample seating was provided along with food and snacks. Since this was my first time there,I would suggest a sign designating where boat docks. Also the walk from parking lots to dock was a little long, I would suggest more benches along the way. I would highly recommend this day cruise to anyone, who would like to see the Hudson River, up close and personal.

The cruise brighten up a rainy Memorial Day weekend. My friend and I enjoy the views and the history of the Hudson River. The staff was helpful and friendly. The ship was warm even though it was cold outside. Plenty of room and I would recommend it to people of all ages.
