We were pleasantly surprised. This was a very nice relaxing cruise. The Captain was very informative.

We were given a gift certificate for a river cruise on the Rip Van Winkle and decided to take it late in the Fall to experience the foliage. All of the personnel involved were wonderful and very helpful in helping me book our cruise date -- right on through the cruise itself! The scenery was exceptional - we love lighthouses and never had an opportunity to see the Esopus Lighthouse before. It was a bit chilly (as we cruised late in October), but had the opportunity to go below to the snack bar deck to warm up a bit. The bartender was very friendly and offered great insight into some of the properties we were passing. This was a beautiful trip! Although parking right at the boat landing is limited, there was ample parking across the road in the Municipal (and free) lot. We would definitely consider taking this cruise again. The only downside that I would mention is that I could not hear the narrated comments very well due to the noise of the boat. Some guests may find this a "plus", but I would have liked to hear more of the history of some of the properties and areas we passed along the cruise. A very enjoyable 2 hour cruise that I would recommend to all!

It was a beautiful fall day but I thought we booked the 1-1/2 hour cruise but it was 2-1/2 hours. It was extremely slow and way too long. The crew did a nice job (it wasn't their fault) but it was actually quite boring. Once the sun got low in the sky is got cold and we went downstairs (inside) The speakers were so loud I had to stand outside when the narration began.

Thank you for cruising with us. We have never offered a 1-1/2 hour cruise. Due to current and conditions, the cruise can exceed 2 hours, but we do our best to keep it around 2 hours and have a boarding time of 30 minutes prior to cruise time.
