I had my Grandson and his wife and their 3 children (4 yr old twins and a 21 month old) on the cruise and was told no food or beverages was to be brought on the boat. So we didn't. Well, there was a wedding party on the boat---- many, many drinkers and kind of rowdy.. I went down to the snack bar about half way thru the ride and there was a line to the bar half way back thru the boat and NO ONE on the snack bar. So I went back upstairs and waited until the line went down. When I finally went back down to the snack bar, there were NO PRETZELS, POPCORN or any other snacks available, There was only one very confused and flustered young lady on the snack bar. She was very polite and kept apologizing for the problem. Your company needed to have done better scheduling and planned ahead better for a crowd that size. I have been on this cruise many times and never really had such a problem so needless to say I probably won't be back and have that happen again with children.

Thank you for taking a cruise with us aboard the Rip Van Winkle. We are sorry you didn't enjoy the experience as much as most of our guests. We do our best to adequately staff and supply the vessel based on our many years of cruising the Hudson. We love having wedding parties and all kinds of guests aboard. Unfortunately, on your tour, I believe the bar and snack bar were busier than usual and we actually had one of our crew step in to assist the bartender. We certainly want all of our guests to enjoy their experience and we apologize that you did not on this occasion. We would be happy to have you back out to give us another chance. Please give us a call in the office and we'd be happy to set that up.
