Overview

Seeing the Sonoran Desert via your own two feet can be very intimate. How often do you get to stand right next to a Saguaro Cactus? Have you ever tried a taste of Cholla Cactus? Did you know there are so many edible plants in our Sonoran Desert?

Our guides can put together a hiking adventure in the Sonoran Desert to fit your vision. From a casual stroll to strenuous, rugged terrain—we have you covered. Have your dog along? We welcome them to join the hike as long as they are leashed.

Want to do a family hike? We can put together hikes that include education and get those little legs moving. If you plan to hike a half day with us plan for three hours of hiking. Our guides will carry water, snacks, sunscreen and first aid essentials.

What To Expect

Piestewa Peak

You will view one of the most recognized summit peaks in Phoenix however it is not a part of this hike.

My guide was Laurel and she was amazing! She was not only knowledgeable about the area, wildlife and vegetation but she was extremely personable, easy to talk to and really fun. Not to mention the trail helped bank some calories for good food/drink later. 🙂

What a spectacular morning! With Matt as my guide we covered almost 5 miles of desert landscape. Matt was very knowledgeable of the cacti and wildlife that call this area home. We even saw jackrabbit, coyote, and several bird species. Just a great experience and one I’m happy to recommend to others.

We found Wild Bunch Desert Guides online when planning a getaway in the Phoenix area. Our guided hiking tour was easy to book and the feedback and follow up was prompt and very personalized. Laurel, the Owner made sure we got exactly what we wanted out of our trip and even followed up afterwards to make sure we were 100% satisfied. Our tour guide Tommy was great at telling us about the local area, terrain, plant and animal life along our hike. He also made us feel comfortable and gave much attention to safety, even providing us with snack and plenty of water. Bonus of this hike was it started and ended at Starbucks at the base of the beautiful Senoran mountains/desert. After our hike we enjoyed sitting outside, gazing at our accomplishment and enjoying a beverage!
