Inside the Daniels House

Overview

Throughout December, the rooms of the Daniels House are decked out for Christmas!

On this tour you’ll get a rare look inside an original 17th century mansion built by ship captain Stephen Daniels in 1667.
We’ll start in the old Parlor, richly decorated with antiques and historic details: low ceilings, an original fireplace and wide-pine floors. A selection of historical drinks are provided to enhance the experience. Then we’ll immerse ourselves in the old rustic kitchen for a glimpse of what daily life was like when Salem was on the frontier; complete with 9’ cooking fireplace and protection marks carved into the wood to ward off the evils of the world.

Throughout you’ll get an intimate look at original details from the Witch Trials, American Revolution and beyond.The Daniels House is not a museum nor a reproduction; it's an original home representing over 350 years of daily life.

Ticket proceeds go toward preservation of the House.

We had a great time hearing all the stories during our Lore of the Land experience. Being able to have a nice cup of tea and sit in a room of the Daniels House that was all original was great! Vijay did an incredible job telling the stories and answering our questions. I would definitely recommend this tour!

We had such a fun and informative time on this tour! I appreciated the nod to the witch trials but was impressed with the vast knowledge presented to us on this tour. From Maritime facts to thought provoking conversation about human nature and hysteria it was clear our tour guide was knowledgeable and passionate.

This was an outstanding personal tour! Vijay was so very kind and incredibly knowledgeable!! We learned not only about the history of the house, but the period, furnishings, architecture, and so much more. Highly recommend!!!
