Overview

Floating past spectacular geological formations and views of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range as you run exciting Class II-III rapids. This trip is suitable for families, first timers or experienced rafters with great views and lots of adventure. You will run the best 10 miles of whitewater in Bighorn Sheep Canyon, groups or individuals looking to experience whitewater rafting in Colorado for the first time or tenth time. Great views and adventure! 2 to 3 hours on the water. This is the only trip that can start out of either of our locations.

You will meet at our office and check in with our friendly office staff, meet your guide, get outfitted with the proper rafting equipment, go through and in depth safety orientation and then hop on a van or bus for a 25-30 drive to the river put int

Once you arrive at the the river you will be given specific a professional guide that will take you on an adventure of a life time! You will spend 2-2.5 hours on the water running great whitewater, potential Bighorn Sheep sightings and viewing amazing Colorado scenery.

Had a great time- it is perfect for beginners- 640 cfs- Mike was our guide- he was patient, funny and knowledgable. Due to the calmness of the river (lack of rain) this was perfect for beginners, children and an adult with a bad back. We had a blast! We also received a great recommendation for lunch at Moburritos!

Our family has done several whitewater trips on the Colorado River with another company in Cotopaxi, CO but they were booked this year so we went with ART. There was some confusion on which location we were supposed to go to (Cotopaxi or Canon City) and we ended up at the wrong one (Cotopaxi) which is 40 minutes past Canon City. Ugghhh! So we headed back to Canon City knowing we'd be late. About halfway back, we got a call telling us to head back to Cotopaxi because they sent a guide from Canon City to meet us there. Frustration was building...and we could see the river and knew the low water conditions meant the rapids were not as big or as fast as we wanted on the intermediate run. We finally arrived back at Cotopaxi, got fitted with life vests, boarded the van and headed to the put-in to meet up with our guide, Mike Dunn. Thank you, Mike, for making what was looking like an expensive flop into a FUN day on the water with my wife and 3 daughters. Your enthusiasm, wit, and easy manner got us in the right frame of mind and helped us get as much joy out of this trip as we have on some with much better water conditions. You placed our teen daughters at the front of the raft (a new experience for them), made sure they got some good action right away, got us 'surfing' in one rapid, and you took us backwards through Puppy's Tail and we stalled out in a way you'd never even experienced! It wasn't the most exhilarating trip we've taken because of the low water, but it was one of the best memories with my family...thank you!
