Overview

Floating past spectacular geological formations and views of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range as you run exciting Class II-III rapids. This trip is suitable for families, first timers or experienced rafters with great views and lots of adventure. You will run the best 10 miles of whitewater in Bighorn Sheep Canyon, groups or individuals looking to experience whitewater rafting in Colorado for the first time or tenth time. Great views and adventure! 2 to 3 hours on the water. This is the only trip that can start out of either of our locations.

Recommended dress code is no cotton. Anything synthetic such as swimwear, workout gear, and sandals/sneakers with a heel. No flip flops for crocks!

What To Expect

You will meet at our office and check in with our friendly office staff, meet your guide, get outfitted with the proper rafting equipment, go through and in depth safety orientation and then hop on a van or bus for a 25-30 drive to the river put int

Once you arrive at the the river you will be given specific a professional guide that will take you on an adventure of a life time! You will spend 2-2.5 hours on the water running great whitewater, potential Bighorn Sheep sightings and viewing amazing Colorado scenery.

Just did a half day on Bighorn Sheep Canyon with Kyle as our guide and was the best birthday I have ever had. The scenery was beautiful, the rafting was fun and the instruction was the best. Kyle was our guide and he was funny, engaged and was a great instructor. Can't wait to go again next year!

Maggie and Austin were amazing guides, and Jim was an awesome driver! There are 2 rafts of 6 people, and we all had a lot of fun! ART always made sure that safety was a priority. After getting us suited up with optional wetsuits/shoes, required life jackets and helmets, we had a safety briefing. After that, we proceeded by van to our drop-in point. The river was lower than I expected, but the rapids were just as fun! Next time, we plan on coming back and doing the Advanced Royal Gorge trip! Totally recommend for families with children who may want to experience a tamer rafting trip. These were considered a Class 2 and Class 3 rapid, and parts weren't "easy", but it would definitely be appropriate for children who are 10 and up. We'll be bringing our boys next time!

Very fun trip! Austin was very awesome and made the trip very fun! He made sure to be very clear in his directions. Answered any and all questions that we all had. All of us had never gone rafting before and this was perfect. The river had plenty of rapids that were exciting. All of us would go again.
