Overview

Learn to scuba dive during your Maui vacation with Banyan Tree Divers Maui! Our mobile dive shop is owned and operated by PADI instructors who each have over 10 years of professional teaching experience. We focus on your safety and comfort with small group sizes. If you want the one-on-one attention you deserve, then you have found the Lahaina dive shop for you. We provide all of our guests with personalized attention, and when possible, private diving.

PLEASE READ: You MUST be able to swim to complete the Introductory Dive. This means that each student can swim unassisted in the ocean. Our Private Dive is REQUIRED for less comfortable swimmers, available in a separate listing. Misrepresentation of your swimming ability will lead to removal from the experience and NO REFUND.

Not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries
Not recommended for pregnant travelers
Not recommended for travelers with poor cardiovascular health
Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
Minimum age to participate is 10
Guests should be able to carry a minimum of 30lbs for a short distance
After diving you must wait 18 hours to fly or ascend to 1,000 feet or more
Guests MUST be proficient at swimming in order to complete this activity. If you show up for diving and cannot swim, you forfeit your participation in the experience as well as your right to a refund.
Must be able to answer NO to each question on the Medical Statement. A YES answer requires a doctor clearance. Failure to secure a doctor clearance when needed forfeits the ability to dive and the right to a refund. Please contact Banyan Tree Divers ahead of time for a copy of the medical form if you have any health concerns that might affect your ability to dive.
Transportation not included. Please let us know if you will not have a rental car.

Proficient SWIMMING ABILITY IS REQUIRED. This means that each student must be able to swim unassisted in the ocean.

While scuba diving involves minimal physical contact with guests, your immediate safety is our first priority. Thus, we are unable to promise consistent social distancing during your dive experience. All gear is sanitized before and after use.

Cancellation Policy

For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

If you're reading through reviews looking for a sign - STOP! This is your sign! We did a beginners/private dive with Michael. This was my 12 year old daughter's first time diving. She was very intimidated and shy. Michael was outstanding and made her feel completely comfortable throughout the entire process. Michael's calm, easy going demeanor helped guide us easily through what could seem like a very daunting process. We had his undivided attention, he wasn't rushed, he was a very fun guide! We did about a 45 minute in person meeting where he went over all the details, fitted us with the necessary equipment, and then we drove to the first shore dive location. Here, we did a very easy going shore dive, where we were able to ease in as if we were simply snorkeling, then after feeling comfortable, descended underwater for about 45 minutes. We opted in for the second dive at Mala Ramp, which I HIGHLY recommend! The sunken pier has turned into a natural habitat covered in coral where you will find lots of turtles, very mellow reef sharks, gorgeous tropical fish, among other beautiful sights! Don't pass up Banyan Tree Divers, you can completely trust them and I will definitely book with them every time I return to Maui. Aloha!

We had Michael as our guide and he was phenomenal! He was incredibly thorough with instruction prior to the dive and made us feel really prepared. He's also very warm and attentive and made us all very comfortable throughout the whole experience. Some people in our group were more anxious than others and he did an admirable job making sure everyone was ready and comfortable every step of the way. I was nervous at the beginning but his instruction and attention made me feel really comfortable by the time we were moving. We signed up for an extra dive and are so glad we did. We saw SO many turtles. Not to mention a reef shark and an octopus. This was both me and my partner's favorite experience in Maui, hands down. If you're on the fence, just book it -- you will not regret it! I had such a great experience that I now want to get scuba certified. Thank you Banyan Tree Divers Maui!

Learning to scuba dive with Chris and Michael was an amazing experience. They even got my wife to scuba dive who is afraid of everything. Don’t miss your chance with these guys. Look no further than Banyan Tree Divers!!!! I went ahead and got my open water diver certification through Chris Doerr who is a great instructor!!! It was well worth the time and money.
