Learn to scuba dive during your Maui vacation with Banyan Tree Divers Maui! Our mobile dive shop is owned and operated by PADI instructors who each have over 10 years of professional teaching experience. We focus on your safety and comfort with small group sizes. If you want the one-on-one attention you deserve, then you have found the Lahaina dive shop for you. We provide all of our guests with personalized attention, and when possible, private diving.

PLEASE READ: You MUST be able to swim to complete the Introductory Dive. This means that each student can swim unassisted in the ocean. Our Private Dive is REQUIRED for less comfortable swimmers, available in a separate listing. Misrepresentation of your swimming ability will lead to removal from the experience and NO REFUND.

Not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries
Not recommended for pregnant travelers
Not recommended for travelers with poor cardiovascular health
Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
Minimum age to participate is 10
Guests should be able to carry a minimum of 30lbs for a short distance
After diving you must wait 18 hours to fly or ascend to 1,000 feet or more
Guests MUST be proficient at swimming in order to complete this activity. If you show up for diving and cannot swim, you forfeit your participation in the experience as well as your right to a refund.
Must be able to answer NO to each question on the Medical Statement. A YES answer requires a doctor clearance. Failure to secure a doctor clearance when needed forfeits the ability to dive and the right to a refund. Please contact Banyan Tree Divers ahead of time for a copy of the medical form if you have any health concerns that might affect your ability to dive.
Transportation not included. Please let us know if you will not have a rental car.
Not recommended for travelers with asthma or sinus medical conditions
Proficient SWIMMING ABILITY IS REQUIRED. This means that each student must be able to swim unassisted in the ocean.
Hand sanitiser available to travellers and staff

While scuba diving involves minimal physical contact with guests, your immediate safety is our first priority. Thus, we are unable to promise consistent social distancing during your dive experience. All gear is sanitized before and after use.

Cancellation Policy

For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

Our intro dive with Banyon Tree was the best experience during our family trip. We had four first time tweens and I would have bet we’d have issues with one or two. Instead, Caitlin and Chris were kid whisperers. They all did great and loved it. I couldn’t have been happier with our day and how Caitlin and Chris worked with the kids to make sure they each loved their first dive. I did a dive the day prior with another top ranked shop on TripAdvisor and they were a clown show compared to Banyon Tree. Disorganized, aged equipment, clumsy dive leadership. Talking to Caitlin and Chris about their diving experience and travels was incredible. You’re in the very best hands with Banyon Tree. I’ve family visiting in a few weeks and given how well this went, I am 100% certain they’ll love it too.

I rarely review, but Kevin was an excellent instructor and guide. He broke through with my reluctant teenagers through sheer energy and good vibes. He showed an amazing enthusiasm for his work, kindness to everyone we encountered— clients or not— and also showed us a really great dive. There were about 350 photos per dive (we did 2) all provided as part of the experience. Photo quality was way above anything we would have done ourselves. Top notch - can’t go wrong with this group.

The highlight of my trip... and I LOVED my entire trip. If you do nothing else, do this!!! Chris was awesome. Took great pics too!! I’m glad I purchased the photo package.
