Of course it was quite touristic. On the other hand: Where can you still find an original Luau. Worth the money. Set in a nice environment, not too big. The menu was rich and delicious!

Let me say that the quality of the musicians, performers, host and food were all top notch. For us the only downside, and it was a bog downer, was that for some reason the Luau was held INSIDE. Apparently the host hotel booked some other event for the Luau grounds, so the Luau was moved inside. We received a voicemail stating this just a day before leaving for our trip to Hawai'i. This made things feel extremely cheesy because the surroundings were the extremely dated 70s inspired look of the King Kamehameha Kona Beach Hotel. So the performers were truly wonderful, but they should have just cancelled or rescheduled so we could have the full outside tropical Luau experience. I assume/hope this was just a rare anomaly.
