We got to Martha's Vineyard with no plans and no information so we figured we'd sign up for a tour. We found DeeDee's website and called to book a bus tour, but ended up going with a private tour because we had our 4 month old in a car seat. It was excellent. DeeDee took us on a 2 hour tour around the island and it was great. She was full of amazing information about the history of the island as well as her knowledge as a local of restaurants and the present day lifestyle having grown up as a local herself. We had a blast and would recommend her to anyone!

We scheduled a tour with DeeDee well in advance. She arranged a nice breakfast for us when we arrived on the ferry at Biscuits. She picked us up across the street after breakfast, and provided a thorough tour of the island. She has lived there her entire life, and knows people who all attended the small school system on the island. She had lots of information about the history of the towns that we visited. She also had deep information about the filming of Jaws. I recommend that you watch the film before you take her tour, as you will recognize many of the spots that you visit with DeeDee. We look forward to reconnecting with DeeDee next summer and taking some new friends on her tour.

Homegrown Tours tops any tour my husband and I have taken. We took the 4 hour sunset tour led by the owner, Dee Dee. As a 3rd generation islander, she had lots of history and fabulous stories to share with us. She picked us up, entertained us with her outgoing personality, and ended our night with us viewing a spectacular sunset while eating a lobster dinner. It doesn't get any better than that!
