The tour was scheduled for 9:30am we werenā€™t riding until 11am and it was a 4 hour ride but we only rode through 2:30pm not to mention it was so muddy and dangerous for us and the horses. We got a number of excuses the mud, the college kids left, etc. to be honest it wasnā€™t good. A girl got bucked off her horse 2x and they didnā€™t offer her one of their horses. Iā€™ve done a ton of trail riding- I was shocked they didnā€™t match riders with horses based on experience and one of the guides was supposed to be in the back but because he was riding with his girlfriend up front he didnā€™t assist the 2x the girl got bucked off. The muddy conditions should have cancelled this - my husbandā€™s horse had the wrong saddle and also lost a shoe. The horse was sliding everywhere it was insane! Also no view of the Tetons.

Iā€™m sure this is a much better tour when it is warm, sunny and dry. I guess my two cents is not so much a review but advice for travelers looking to book this excursion. The provider will not cancel your tour if it is raining. I found the experience to be super stressful in the rain as the horses were climbing and descending hills, and dangerously sliding up and down them. As travelers who are not used to horseback riding and this activity we wore what we packed- our sneakers. They let you off the horse at the end of the tour to trudge through about 20 feet mud and horse excrement to leave where, if they would have taken care, we could have been left us off at a less muddy area. Again - much better when it is dry and sunny. This extra care and time would have saved us a ton of time and a trip to the laundromat to clean up. So- if you go, pack boots, pants and something long sleeved and warm. Pants and long sleeves are important to protect your legs and arms from the brush on the trail. Definitely do this tour, I am just hoping to give helpful info to the next family.
