Overview

The 8 mile whitewater stretch through the Snake River Canyon takes you through mix of calm sections where you'll be able to take in the scenery and wildlife, and exciting rapids. On this smaller 8 man raft your paddling skills will be put to the test as your guide leads you into the big waves of Kahuna and Lunch Counter, so be prepared to paddle hard and have a blast getting soaked!

You will be getting soaked on this trip. So wear items of clothes that are not made of cotton, synthetic clothes are best!

We are pretty confident that this 8-mile stretch of whitewater has the highest concentration of laughter in the state of Wyoming. With class II and III rapids such as The Lunch counter and The Big Kahuna, and even an underwater waterfall aptly named Champagne, this river will thrill and delight you. And with inspiring limestone cliffs, hills of Lodge pole Pine, and the mountain peak horizon of the Grey’s National Forest, the scenery will surely impress you. This is the moment in your vacation that you’ll write home to grandma about—that is, if she’s not already in the boat with you!

Look, I love the river and being outside just as much as anyone. I hadn't fully understood the current status of the river (it's very low right now). After riding on the bus for an hour, away from the Tetons and the gorgeous views of Jackson Hole, we were told that we were still doing our scenic float, but it would involve navigating some of the rapids that are typical to a whitewater trip. It didn't take long to realize that this trip was simply a money-grab. You are floating the whitewater section of the river, but the guide is operating as if it's a scenic float. You don't get the fun of going through the rapids, but instead you get splashed by small waves along the way, making you cold for the rest of the ride. At the same time, you don't get any of the views or wildlife that would make a scenic trip worthwhile. And then, you guessed it, another hour in the bus. I have read great things about this company, but these end of season trips are just an excuse to take your money.

Great whitewater rapids adventure!!! The guide Vlad was awesome and we even saw a moose! Big Kahuna was a fun class 3 and it’s a great time!!
