What To Expect

Dave Hansen Whitewater and Scenic River Trips
We are pretty confident that this 8-mile stretch of whitewater has the highest concentration of laughter in the state of Wyoming. With class II and III rapids such as The Lunch counter and The Big Kahuna, and even an underwater waterfall aptly named Champagne, this river will thrill and delight you. And with inspiring limestone cliffs, hills of Lodge pole Pine, and the mountain peak horizon of the Grey’s National Forest, the scenery will surely impress you. This is the moment in your vacation that you’ll write home to grandma about—that is, if she’s not already in the boat with you!

This was the perfect white water experience for the beginner rafter and a perfect way to see some of what the Tetons have to offer. I have rafted before but this was my wife's first time. I was naturally a little nervous, but our guide Nolan was great and super knowledgeable. He gave clear and concise directions and lead us down a great rafting trip. Thanks again guys!

Thanks Teddy! This section of the Snake has a great mixture of water and rapids where first timers don't feel overwhelmed and, at the same time, seasoned rafters still feel plenty of excitement. It definitely helps too with a guide like Nolan. From giving a great safety talk to getting people soaked to dropping some Jackson Hole knowledge and sprinkling in a few tall tales, he gives a great trip. Thanks again Teddy and hope we get the chance to take you all down the river again soon. Raft On! Bud

My 14-year-old son and I booked the whitewater rafting on a small boat (8 people). Would recommend this to anyone (instead of the big boats). I would only book the big boats if you don't like to get wet (then you can sit in the middle and don't have to paddle and probably stay dry). Otherwise, the small boats certainly offer more entertainment value. Everything was super organized from reception to return. The rafting tour itself was optimal in duration (about 1.25 hours). Our companion Bryce was extremely sympathetic and talked to everyone in the boat. Everyone was allowed to sit at the front of the boat once (so-called bull riding). This was really funny especially with rapids:-) For me personally, the rafting should have included even more action (but 1 point deduction). We passed several rapids, but mostly they were smaller ones. Only one big rapid was there. Nevertheless, it was a very successful tour and also the quiet passages were good (enjoy scenery). Although it was rather cold (about 15°C water temperature), we did not take a wetsuit. A rain jacket was enough to stay dry on top. And in the sun you quickly got dry again anyway. Would recommend the tour to anyone (also suitable for children under 14 years) and find the value for money fair!
